Having trouble with my rear selt belts. They keep locking tighter and tighter every time you move, almost strangling you to death! It happens on both sides in the rear, so I think we must be doing something wrong, but I don't know what! My back seat passengers are miserable.

The front seat belts only lock if you stop quickly (simulating an accident, I guess). The rear ones lock immediately after you buckle them.

Any suggestions or help would be great! Thanks!

If you pull the seatbelt all the way out then it get's in the mode where it keeps getting tighter an tighter. Are your passengers pulling them out a long way before buckling? If not then it sounds like there's something wrong with the retractors.

The pull-way-out-to-lock feature is intentional -- if you have
something you need to "belt in" and not move, and I don't know if
baby seats qualify given the presence of the LATCH fittings too,
then it's nice to get the belts in a mode where they *won't* let
said object go forward at all, even a little bit. Once they're in
that mode and have tightened around an object [human or otherwise],
you can always just unbuckle to release and start over. Unless the
object has buried access to the buckle somehow or you've just looped
it around something without buckling ... then it gets more interesting.
