Watch Living with Ed Sundays 10pm e/p. Catch a sneak peek, Monday, Jan. 1, right after the Rose Parade!

    About the Show
TV and movie actor Ed Begley, perhaps the greenest man in Tinsel Town, rides his electric car to the Academy Awards and powers his home with the sun and his stationary bike. But Living with Ed and his environmentalist passion isn't always a walk in the park for wife, Rachelle. This first-of-its-kind reality green show chronicles life with an earth-friendly fanatic with humor and heart. Check out this fresh unscripted docu-soap about the lifestyle of a diehard activist who puts his money and his time where his mouth is 24/7. Definitely not recycled TV.

This looks like a pretty good show - looks like HGTV is doing some video advertising on the main page of PriusChat.

I've always enjoyed Ed Begley - the bit with him making toast powered by an exercise bike was funny.

Has anyone ever seen the show on PBS called "Real Simple" from the same people who produce the magazine of the same name?

In one episode, they showed how to throw the "mess-less birthday party." Their plan was executed by purchasing completely disposable everything and when the party ended, they used the plastic tablecloth as a trash can pulling the corners together and tying everything inside. It all went straight into the trash can.

My wife and I were appalled.

I don't know if they caught any flak for that or if they are trying to play both sides, but recently they did a segment on how to make Christmas more green. It included recycled wrapping paper, package-less gifts, and other eco-friendly ideas. A total 180.

I get the magazine. I enjoy it, except for the women's fashion and make-up parts. They tend to stick to their name - making everything real simple. Sometimes their ideas are wasteful, but others are more eco-friendly. A few years ago, they suggested that for most lighting situations, CFL bulbs were a very good idea. Of course, their reason was that they last longer, not that they use less electricity. All in all, it's a pretty good publication, IMHO. I've only seen the show a couple times. hey didn't do anything that wasn't in the magazine, but it was the first couple episodes.

Now, back to Ed. I plan on watching this. I do not plan on riding a bike to power up my cable box and TV to watch it, however.

That's the first Google Video ad I've seen anywhere...I played it, even though I've seen the actual commercial on HGTV. Pretty cool!

I've seen the teasers for this and will probably watch it.

But my biggest fear is that they'll make Begley out to be a nutjob and living green into a farce.
