    Hi everyone.
I have a 2004 package #9 and for the last several months there's been a light on the dashboard. I normally have my headlights on and it was just about an inch to the right of the headlights light. It had been on for so long that I stopped paying attention to it. In fact, I'd just gotten used to it.

Then this afternoon when I got in my car, I noticed that the light was not there.

I think that is an indiccator that doesn't exist in the 2007 model, so it never shows up in my car. However, from what I've read posted by various "experts", I believe that indicator is a calendar estimation indicator. It indicates different dates depending on the region where the car is located. Around Chicagoland it seems to light up to indicate that it is roughly Haloween and it may fluctuate on and off a bit between Haloween and Christmas to indicate the "holiday season" and as a reminder not to forget your holiday shopping. Then it shuts off to indicate that almost 6 weeks have passed since ground hog day.

I've also heard that in Chicagoland it makes a close estimate of standard time/daylight saving time in case you happen to forget to change your clocks. If my 2007 model came with that indicator I'd probably just use it as a reminder to change the batteries in my smoke detectors.

I've heard that in some regions it doesn't come on at all, and in others, it may come on months earlier than here in Chicagoland, and remain on for months longer. Now that sounds pretty useless to me. At least the indicator serves a useful purpose for you around here.

It's the bulb indicator lamp. When it goes out, you need a new bulb indicator lamp because the old one is burned out.

    :D

I haven't ever thought of that as a "holiday" reminder before!

No wonder I feel wanting when it's no longer there.

That can't be it; it's been on for quite some time. :D

So I'm glad everyone took this post as the well-meaning joke it was intended. Of course I'm referring to the 37ºF light that's been blazing away for several months. I was so pleased to see temps actually top 40ºF yesterday I just had to post about it.

So here's a dancing banana that I'm stealing from the CleanMPG emoticon set to indicate my joy for warmer weather:

Could it be the ice warning light? Did you turn off the fog lights?

Or is it proof of shrinking female genitals?
That may be caused by global warming I guess.
How about Adelaide breaking the record for the most March days over 35 degrees Celsius. record was 11 days. Looking at the forcast it looks like we will have over 14 days over the old 100 degrees F before we see any relief. Perhaps global warming? Some rain would be nice too, we had 2.6 mm of rain last month and none yet this month!

Or just do as I have, leave the piece of black electrical tape over the warning light forever
