I apologize that this isn't specific to a Prius, but I was wondering if anyone knows the approx. life of dino oil in the original container?

Virtually forever, but check the specifications (SE, SF, ... SJ) to see if the old oil is good enough for the intended use.

The life span of the dinosaur age?

A serious answer would be that it goes out of date when the SAE changes their standards.

If you have old bottles of oil from the mid 20th century, I wouldn't use them in a Prius.
