It's in the manual on the pages for replacing all the lights. I did it. If I remember correctly you have to pinch the part a little to pry it off. Or something like that. The manual goes into it in detail.
Kind of both. The LED's are whiter and brighter so things look a lot better. They also use less energy, but they're so small that I doubt it would make a notable difference ever to your battery.
It is super easy. I did inside, and outside in less than 15 minutes. I'd recommend these. These are the ones I used and are more than bright enough. People have said that the quality isn't the best, but I haven't had any problems with mine. Also, the pack comes with 10 and you only need 5 so you'll have 5 spare ever if something does go wrong. Nice, thanks. I recently changed my headlight to Phillips 5000k h11 which has anice white bluish glow and longer distance light and easier on my eyes at night. Now I got the let's consider changing all of it.
