Just got my plates in and was wondering what are you guys using for plate frames. I'm kind of undecided and was probably going to go with an all black frame to match my black prius or go frameless. Pics of your custom plate frames would be great

I was going to use the same frame as sfv41901 but the dealer had already poked 4 holes in my bumper, two to mount the frame and two more from the screws used to put the dealer ad plate on. I was not pleased...

I opted for no frame for front or rear plates. It looks cleaner on my silver color car.

I too suffer from having four holes in my bumper cover also, what a shame so am running a front plate. I am frameless front and rear.

To the OP I see you are kind of new, Welcome to PC, try to use the search there are a few threads on plate frames already.

Frameless. Frames tend to rattle with the plates. Besides, why add weight?

I have a custom frame for the rear plate that says "My name is Chunker...I wear a hat" No front plate until a cop pulls me over and I "fix" the problem...=)

A good license plate frame needs to be stainless steel, match the number of factory holes (two for the Prius) and not cover the state expiry date information. Also, it should come with screw covers for a finished look.

I purchased a polished frame from Amazon that looks great. I added small plastic washers between the plate frame and car to prevent contact with the hatch and additional foam strips at the bottom of the plate to prevent rattles. Search for Toyota Polished Stainless Steel Plate on Amazon from the Car Beyond Store. Hopefully, the link below will work for you. This frame is not cheap at $39.95, but the quality shows.

I have 4 little holes in my front too. I don't know to hide the holes/dent, since FL does not require a front plate. I don't want a front plate if I don't need one.

Here's mine for the rear. I don't plan to run a front plate.

Does anyone have a pic of the 4 holes? The dealer I bought my car from put a front plate on my car also.. Don't need it in Florida either, so I want to cover up the holes..

Here's a link from Rockerdan's thread for bumper plugs to cover your holes:

    Order Form

You can see pics of it in his thread. He plugged the holes in his bumper when he relocated his front plate below the bumper.

25 dollars for a plug plus 8 dollars for shipping and handling?...hummm not sure if it is worth it.... but the holes are an eye sore..

Back when I was a teenager, I bought generic trim piece fastener plugs, and spray painted to color, to plug the holes. Total cost was less than the shipping cost and worked just fine, with many gray plugs left to spare.

I really like this and would like to get the same one. Do you by any chance have a link where I can order this particular frame? Also, does it come with the chrome screws? Thanks for your help!

Thanks! Does the order come with two frames or just one? Also, how long have you had it for? Any signs of rust or cheap quality after some wear and tear? Thanks again.

No problem. It only comes with 1 frame. From my experience, they are decent quality for the price. I had the same type of frame on my Lexus IS350 for 5 years and never had any major rusting problems. There was a small amount of rust starting to develop near the screws but nothing too noticeable.
