Lexus will be revealing a prototype EV next Wednesday (3/23/21) at 6am EST. Hopefully with some idea on pricing and when it will going into production. Looks like fastback to me (my favorite form factor).

Motor 1 has a few pictures and a quick video too.

As a current VW e-Golf owner and a previous owner of a Gen 2 Prius and Prius C look forward to seeing what Toyota/Lexus will be have to offer. Hopefully this EV is similar size to a Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2.

Depending on when they actually go on sale and are delivered, the first few may get the full federal tax credit. I assume the car won't have a battery smaller than 16 kWh, so the amount will be $7500. Deliveries starting in the third quarter will be reduced, and gone a year later.

$7,500. is disappointing. i thought we'd see some larger credits with the new admin.

Passing laws take work and compromise when you don't have a supermajority of the House and Senate.

Under the BBB bill, I don't think a Toyota would get much more than the $7500.

If Lexus/Toyota wants a bunch on the road, they'll have dealer incentives like we got with Prius Primes the first couple of years.
I'm not a fan of the styling or the interior technologies (who can stop the invasive privacy tech coming out way). I am a fan of the engineering in the power train, suspension and platforms.
I just wish smaller less expensive plugins would start rolling on the lines sometime sooner, rather than later,
like a plugin or EV Corolla and/or something even smaller.

The Bolt EV has a predelivery price of $31,500. Based on the Trax/Sonic, it is smaller than the Corolla. The 259 mile range can drop, and still be viable for many. That will get the price below $30k, but still thousands more than an ICE model if that is your comparison.
