I was in Atlanta at the Lexus Southern Region for a training class on the new LS. WOW, what a vehicle.
Powered by a 5 liter engine, and employing the same transmission (add on a tranfer case) as a GS450h, the AWD Lexus just amazed me, and I've been with Lexus for awhile. We got to drive the car for about a hour in the north metro area, and this car has all the power and creature comforts that anybody desires. . . but thats just my thought.

I believe this was the one sitting on the floor at Hybridfest. Hardly anyone went near it. Probably for fear that even breathing on it would invoke the wrath of a Lexus rep.

Of course, mine would come with "all the fixin's" which would push the price to a cozy little $120,000. Man I'd love to roll into a hybrid meet-up in one of those.

It may be Lexus' most expensive car (until the LF-A arrives) but tell me what the S550 4Matic starts at.

In Canada, the $132,000 base price of an LS600h L is still cheaper than the S550 4Matic.

I had the honor and distinction of perform my 1st PDI (pre delivery inspection) on the new LS600hL today.
The check list is lenghty, and the manual is over 150 pages. It pays 2 hours, but I took my time, did it in 2.7 hours, but the car is right.
I clicked a couple of pix from my phone, thought I'd post em for your viewing pleasure.
I'm sure I'll be doing many more, and if all thing happen just right, my Prius will some day grow up and be one of these beauties.
$115K  ouch, alotta goods gotta happen!

Any insight into just what kind of customer is making a
purchase like that? Did you talk to them at all?

mmmm very nice! I'm sure that's a good feeling once you were done, knowing that a lucky person is going to enjoy the vehicle you've just prepared.

The 1st LS600hL went to a guy in Oklahoma of all places. The vehicle I PDI'd was sold locally, but I havn't met him/her yet.
I have seen some demographics on Lexus customers regarding age, marital status, education, income and regions, but not the breakdown on the LS owner.
The avg income of a SC430 owner is over $300K!

My local dealer had one in the showroom (by accident actually) and I had them unlock the doors for me.

For the 2 mins that I sat there, I was in heaven. Oh and I turned the headlights on. Those LEDs look really nice and you know what's the best part? There's NO glare like you do with HIDs (you know... when they flicker as the car goes over a bumpy road). I stooped down to bumper level and I wasn't blinded by the lights (I was about 2-3 ft away from the car)
