Has anyone done it? Looking at my headlight on my gen3 there appears to be a place for LEDs to go, has anyone taken the lamp apart? If so how difficult was it? iPhone ?

Someone in SoCal had it done by a custom installer. It's buried somewhere in the Gen 3 modifications and accessories forum. It was a while ago, so don't know if the picture links are still available.
