Did you change the flasher for the LED turn signals? They won't work with the standard flasher.

I replaced my two tail lights with LED's from Autolumination in AZ. Using the T10 SMT II Tower nine red LED unit, it increased the brightness somewhat over the stock 2825 bulb, which was pretty wimpy.

It would have been nice to get more LED's (brighter), but don't think it would fit into the lens space. The trick is to get the same color LED as the lens color.

 

i placed white one´s because the lens color is already red.

 

I was going to go with white too, but the tips on the LED supplier websites say to use the same color LED as the lens color, otherwise too much of the color would be filtered out. So I went with a red LED. I didn't want to by both colors and experiment.
The tips also state that going with LED's don't always mean brighter. For me, it was a slight improvement in brightness.

 

All right, you guys forced me, My bulbs are on order. I will take a pic with stock bulb on one side, the Led on the other!!! This will make an interesting photo. I should have the Led's midweek, I hope!!!

 

That's a big mistake. There is very little red light in a white LED. And after you pass the "white" light through a red filter, you're left with very few of the photos you started with. ALWAYS use the same color LED as the filter (lens). If done properly, almost 100% of the photos pass through the filter. Sure, it seems silly at first since we're used to incandescents that have tons of red and yellow in them. But with LEDs, the wavelength produced is very narrow.

True! To a point. You can install an LED "bulb" in there that is brighter than the existing one... and still have the LED *appear* dimmer. This is because the fixture is made for incandescent bulbs. The reflector and lens are optimized for incandescent - not LED. LEDs have some great advantages over standard bulbs. But few of those advantages are realized when the bulb is retrofitted into an incandescent fixture. The way to make LEDs shine is to build a proper fixture for them. See your brake lights for an example of how a proper fixture can make LEDs into a fantastic lighting solution. LED retrofits still suck. And they likely always will suck. I have many $100's worth of the drop-ins that I keep buying in hopes that they'll one day magically be great. Hasn't happened yet, and I'm not holding my breath. We need proper LED fixture to really make this work.

I'm a HUGE LED guy. I have LEDs in all the places that make sense. Want to know where I don't have them? In any of the signal areas. If somebody can convince me that there's a drop-in, long-lasting product that will appear brighter than the factory bulb, I'd like to see the evidence! Please also note that none of these drop-ins (that I've ever seen) are DOT approved. That means that if you're involved in an accident, and somebody figures out that your lights are non-DOT, they can create a situation where the accident is totally your fault, regardless of reality. I've unfortunately seen this happen...

and its just red.. just like i want it.
maybe you mean that with the same power led in red color it would be brighter?
