I recently was out of town and my Prius would not start. Wouldn't start with the keyless suggestion as well. Thought about for awhile and decided to buy fob battery. That worked. My concern is that I did not get the normal dashboard warning that the battery was low. Any ideas how to reactivate the warning? Thanks for any help.

i have found that warning to be iffy. best to change the batteries on a regular basis or test them.

thinking about it some more, it should have worked holding it up to the start button, or whatever the procedure is for a c-2. maybe you just stimulated something or released a stuck button when you changed the battery.
did you try the second fob?
i would test the 12v, how old is it?

Thanks Bisco, I'll take your advise and change out the battery on a schedule. Unfortunately I didn't have the 2nd key fob, as I was at the beach, 70 miles from home.
