I'm going to go with the Dems.

    Moderate Republicans + Independents + Democrats = Kerry/McCain landslide

As Martha Stewart would say ' This would be a good thing.'

I'm not sure Martha Stewart would be a good source of judgement as far as the Democrat ticket goes, though she is a big supporter of the Democrats. I believe wishful thinking is permeating the Prius line...must be the SLEV has more emissions than thought.

Don't be surprised to hear Hillary's name come up as a running mate.

I don't think so, unless it's by the scared repubs who were the same ones saying that Hillary was going to run for President this time around. Hillary won't be running until 2008 (or 2012 if Kerry wins & runs for a second term), and it makes sense for her to build a true political base instead of only serving 2/3s of your term in office.

With all the 'considerations' of VP for Kerry flying - Tom Brokaw, John McCain, etc. - I'm expecting him to go with someone fairly convential - my best guess would be Edwards, especially being a southerner and all. It wouldn't suprise me if the 'biggest wildcard' Kerry is truly considering is Dean, just for his supporters - but I think he won't go that route, because the media already shot down Dean once this year. Just a guess, though. Everything at this point is speculation for most of us. :)

The thing about Hillary though, is that she really wants to be president in 2008. If Kerry wins in 2004, that won't happen.

I have a gut feeling Hillary will either push for the VP spot, or do everything in her power to make Kerry's campaign very difficult. I think she would rather him lose, just so she can run in 2008.

I may be way off on this, but it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

What really kills me is people who know that Hillary wants to run in 2008. Like they are personal friends and heard her say that. Maybe she does, maybe she doesn't. What's so terrible about someone wanting to be president unless you hate Hillary that is. I all politicians are selfish. They only want power. The more the better. Perks perks perks.

And I suppose while you're imagining all this, Hillary is wearing a dark robe, a pointed hat, and is stirring some form of cauldron?

Discuss politics, not school yard nonsense.

I think Hillary was stirring a cauldron and wearing a pointy hat when I drove by this morning. I believe Bill, or an imposter, was bringing logs to the fire.

I guess that statement could go towards all of the abuse directed at President Bush as well. Then again, isn't that what politics is, school yard nonsense?

Yeah, last I checked, Hillary sent....0 people to their death.

Bush has thousands of civilians dead directly because of him, not to mention well over 500 soldiers. Don't you dare take a picture of their coffins coming home, but he can use the burning wreckage video for his campaign.

Chances are good that Hillary wants to be president. Chances are good that everyone in the Senate, most of the House of Reps, and a fair percentage of governors want to be president. 2008 is a good year for anyone who expects the Shrub to win. But politics requires patience. Most of them can probably reconcile themselves to 2012 if Kerry wins.

But the VP slot does not seem to be a good stepping stone unless the pres dies in office. The VP gets a great salary, benefits, and pension and gets to cast the tie-breaking vote in the Senate, but I'm guessing that nobody with serious presidential aspirations will accept the offer.

As for Hillary, she's no better or worse than any other politician. They're all crooked, and she's no different. But no worse either. At least she'd break the gender barrier if she won, and that would be good anyway.

I don't think so. McCain does little more than stir the pot for his own publicity. Kerry is VERY far left. A little bit of research in his actions after returning from 'Nam will paint a very spooky picture of this individual. He courted the communist party in his anti war efforts, being just one example.

His stance on "special interests" is complete, total and utter bull. He has a list of special interests in his pocket every bit as long as the one he purports he wants to attack. The only special interest he doesn't like, are the ones not greasing his own grubby palm.

The only real difference between him and Bush, is that he's of the party that thinks your income really belongs to them, to spend as they please.

If I'm going to have to choose between two crooked, BS spewing snakes of politicians, I'll at least pick the one that doesn't think that my wallet is free for them to raid at will.

Untill the other 75% of this country gets a clue and starts utilizing that right to vote, there will be little change in the status quo in DC.

I guess you didn't read all the stuff about how many people mysteriously died who had connections to the Clintons.

Of course we were lucky that she was stopped before her socialized health care plan got put into place....that would have killed tens of thousands of people waiting in line since a good share of the doctors would have found jobs in other industries where they wouldn't have caps put on their earning potential.

I also guess her hands are clean even though she voted for the war in Iraq.

As opposed to the tens of thousands of people that are dying now becausethey don't have insurrance? At least if we try something in health care, things might get bettter.

And there's just as many people mystriously dying and disappearing who oppose Bush. The "liberal" corporate-owned media just isn't reporting it. Andthe disappearances may be legal. If the attorny general thinks that you might be a terrorist, you can be picked up, detained indefitely, and not allowed contact with anyone. And there's no reqirement that anyone ever be notified. Man, the Republicans better hope the Democrats never get back into power.

Ha ha ha!!! The Republicans want to tax your great-grand-children (through obscene levels of deficit spending and national debt) to put money in the pockets of big corporations and their super-rich cronies!

Here's how I see the two major parties: The country is like two guys in a canoe on a river headed for a waterfall. The Republicans are shouting "Stay the course! Stay the course! We're still afloat. Our policies are working. Row harder!" The Democrats are saying "Hey, there's a waterfall up ahead! Maybe we should row just a little bit slower." There used to be a third guy in the canoe. He said "If you guys had half a brain we'd turn around and row in the other direction!" So they accused him of having once had a friend with connections to the Communist Party, and they threw him overboard.

Daniel, I recommend doing some research on who spent what over the last three years.

After the first Bush tax cuts, the DEMOCRATS went on a spending spree. Instead of calling attention to this, the REPUBLICANS turned away and pretended it wasn't happening.

BOTH parties are EQUALLY responsible for the deficit, so please spare me the Republican taxing the next generation angle.

Somehow, I'm supposed to support a candidate that wants to TAKE more of my income? Not on your life. Over one third of my income is going to feeding these inept, crooked, laugable examples of alleged leaders at various levels. In total our government now consumes OVER 2.7 TRILLION dollars in income generated by the Citizens of this country. I'll ask you this - How much is enough? When will it become too much?

With as much money is being stolen from the Citizens of this country, one begs to question WHY there are all of these "problems" still in existance in this country.

IMO, the vast majority of the "problems" that exist in this country, would be solved by getting rid of the layers of corporate interests, and piles of welfare programs. Give ALL the people back their incomes by slashing taxes down to the bare necessities to maintain a millitary, and MEAGER wages for our elected servants.
