and I'm loving it. either this has more power and faster regeneration or my old one was loosing it without me noticing it. After my last service of my '12 my mpg's started dropping from an average of 55 to about 45 or even as low as 40 if I was driving like a non prius driver. On the drive home with the eco I got 74mpg and was not even really trying.
What sucks is the battery is not in the back any more so I cant charge bigger things that need direct battery hookup. There was also a big spider on the car which the sales guy said was good luck so we'll see how that works out.
Also on both the drivers and passenger door the top of the interior panel has a plastic thing where the window is and there's kind of a gap so they will inspect and repair tomorrow.
Sticker was about 30k but they accepted around 25k plus gave me $4500 for my 12 which is what kbb shows it to be worth (it was in pretty rough shape with 132,000 miles) and out the door I paid 24k at 0% for 60mo.
The dealer tried to pay less because I had a hitch...they said I could have ruined the transmission with what I was towing....because as we all know when the f350 fails prius are used for towing the heavy stuff.
Heres the the next 130k or more miles :)

$4,000?!? That's the cost of upgrading to a Four! (MSRP Two Eco is $24,700. Four: $28,650)

I would take his 2012 Prius for $4500. Of course their going to jack up the price, but I think they ripped him off. My 2005 with 240,000 miles is worth that much on KBB.

At $4000 over retail you can afford to buy across the country and pay for the flight, hotel, and fuel costs home... wow.

Traded my 2012 and 2009 and gave my 2011 to my daughter.

If you don't need all those extra safety features the eco is perfect.

In Maryland, Baltimore Washington area, eco and twos are in plentiful supply on dealers lots with substantial discount under MSRP and close to invoice.

I realize the OP bought the car for $25,000 which is still a little high but the $30,000 starting figure is way out of line and a complete ruse.

I don't know how Toyota allows some of its dealers to practice this type of deception.

    I live in the Southeast.
All Toyotas that come through the port here to southeast dealers come through the thiefs at Southeast Toyota.

You should see the crap that gets added to cars before the dealer even gets them.
Some cars have have ~$2000 of tack-ons that might be worth a total of $300. $700 for Toyoguard package? worthless. $300 for mats? My dealer gave them free. $69 for an iphone cable? really? Then all the Toyota paint protection films pre-installed that cost more than a really good installed package of Xpel Ultimate. what nerve!

I ordered my 2016 Prius 4 ATP/PCP through my dealer (who went through that network). I insisted on getting a car without all that stuff.

Don't let the others discourage you about price. We don't know what options or maintenance packages you may have on the car.

Any dealer that sets a sticker price for a 2 Eco at $30,000 no matter what is on the car is price gouging.

I guessing the $22,100 included the $1000.00 rebate.

Buy the way... for July, Toyota raised the Cash Rebate to $1,500 this month

Who would have guessed? Oh, well... that money really benefits the dealer more than the buyer. Cash Back is always wrapped into the deal. Otherwise, we'd be getting a big fat check in the mail :ROFLMAO:.

Yeah but he can't do anything now so it is what it is.

It's in the SET region (Southeast Toyota). There are two regions where TMS doesn't have complete control over - SET and GST. I don't know the exact boundaries so the folks living there can help me out but I believe SET includes the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida and Alabama. GST includes Mississippi, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas.

There are different types of cash rebates, right? One of them is direct from the factory (so it doesn't affect the dealer's bottom line) and the other is where the manufacturer provides the incentive to the dealer and it's up to the dealer to decide how much they want to pass on to the consumer. The idea is that dealers that pass on the full amount will obvious attract more customers because of the lower price.

Yeah, it is but that's not the point. If I would have walked into a dealer and he tried to up sell a Prius by $5,000- $6,000 I would have called bull$h&@ and would have walked out immediately.

That type of practice would tell me all I need to know about the dealership.
