Hi just ordered a IV with solar roof. First chose Winter Gray but just phoned in a change to Barcelona Red. Might as well be daring with the color choice. My question is that when the roof is open and you turn off the car, does it close automatically or do you have to close it manually before shutting down? My old after market roof on a Suburu has auto close and after 10 years of just walking away, I'm afraid I would forget to close it.
We are promised delivery in about 5 months (Xmas) but that makes me think early spring is more realistic. (also posted in Newbie Forum)

You must close it....no auto close...Also if it is fully open, the car will beep at you once to let you know that it is open.

I'd have a hard time waiting 5 months. Surely with a little effort you can find one coming in somewhere close.

There never has been an auto-close roof for safety reasons (think of a toddler sticking head out of sunroof or being left in car). Thus I highly doubt there ever will be. The closest thing I've seen is cars is that they let you close a sunroof from the remote.

    Remote? That's kind of neat.

Once again, negligent parents ruin it for everyone, namely childless jerks like me! :)

No offense to all you non-negliegent parents, I hear that all ten of you are great people.

When I bought my silver IV w/SR there was also a Barcelona w/SR, course it would be a bit of a break in drive from SD to NY ;)

Kinda off topic, but yeah once I had a brand new civic, and after about 3 months of babying it, I forgot about the sunroof one day when we got passing showers and torrential downpours. The car was "spongey" for weeks.

you have this thread opened 2 times for some reason unknown, if you play by the rules you need to ask the mods to close one before starting the exact same thread...in any event i will copy paste my response as in the other post so you can have an understanding from others here what a deposit and ordering mean...

from other thread.....you cant order a prius. if the dealer told you he is, he is lying. what they do is look for your requirements in their coming allocations and perhaps some other locals..sorry to burst your bubble but it happened to me and if you search the board you will find other similar posts..
