Yippee! I broke my old tank record. My previous record was 55mpg. I filled up yesterday and averaged 57mpg. I lucked out on the way to work today because there was no one on the highways tailgating me. I drove slower than usually and used the PAG (pluse-and-glide) method a lot more. My round trip average since my fill up is showing 66mpg. I know this is misleading but it is encouraging.

VABeach, My first tank average was 45mpg. I was depressed until I learned how to drive the car from this forum. You did very well for your first tank.

    Highest average tank (MFD): 57mpg
    Temps 97-99
    Heat index 102-105
    AC set at 76 degress
    Average round trip 10 miles.
    Fuel $2.689/US gallon

New record tank for me as well.
This was a slightly short fill (last tank calculated to 64.1mpg despite only showing 61.x on the MFD).

This time at 573 miles with the last bar flashing for about 10 miles I filled up with 64.5mpg !!! on the MFD. Calculated out to 61.6mpg.

Interestingly, but not necessarily significantly, this was a tank of Shell gas instead of my usual Murphy's gas from Wal-mart. Probablely most significant is that I was able to drive at off peak hours and keep the speeds down for all but about 200 miles of the tank.

Anyway, even 46k miles into this car I'm still learning, improving and enjoying the hell out of this fine vehicle.

i decided to get gas a little early due to oil prices, so i didn't make it my usual 500+ miles. the MFD said 60.2, i overfilled it a bit and got a calc of 54.84 (483miles, 8.807gallons). average driving temps were around 75-80F.

great news for me though, i found a different route home from work. managed 80mpg without using P&G, though i did glide a lot. so much gliding the ICE ran a lot of the time just keeping warm. can't wait till i get off my lazy behind and install my EV switch.

Well I just put in my 6tyh tank in at 3250 mi. The MFD was at 63.1, so I thought I would be having my best tank ever. The pump clicked off at 10.4 Gal at 646 MI on the tank, but I decided to make sure if was totally toped off. I was able to squeeze in 12.1 Gal. Hurt my milage a lot, (53.5 MPG) :( but it is good to see how much the bladder varies on a hot day 96F. Maybe I will get a 700 mile tank out of this next tank!

    7/13 - 7/22 data
    255 miles (first fillup)
    8.479 gallons
    30.1 mpg (ouch)

Had terrible mpg reading when I drove home from the dealership, so I'm sure they idled it for a while with the AC running. Ditto on the tint install, mpg tanked after I picked it up. I don't think the tank bladder was stretched out, either, so hopefully this next tank will work better. 50 miles into the new tank, my MFD reads 48.2 mpg.

Yep, they probably did. My new tank is at 3.3L/100km and 30kms but I know I won't keep it cause I have a service appt + steering wheel recall on Wed. This means a drained battery and I expect it to read 6.x or higher.
