Really wish the Sound Volume would increase or decrease based on the car speed - bummer !

Does that work? I felt like it wasn't. I had turned it off. I guess I will try it again.

My interpretation of that setting is to equalize sound levels between audio sources.

The manual says: "â– About Automatic Sound Leveliser (ASL) ASL automatically adjusts the volume and tone quality according to the vehi-cle speed."

I just didn't hear it make a difference. I'm going to enable it again and see if it makes a difference. I did some freeway driving this weekend and noticed I had to increase the volume and decrease it a lot.

Will do but it might be a while lol. I travel on surface streets >90% of the time. (well 100% so far lol).

    Boo :(.

That sucks. In the Gen 3, there's a difference in both audio volume and navigation prompt volume. (JBL audio as well)

Been playing with the equalizer. Sometimes my settings won't stay. Will try the setup menu next.

Tried it on a CD in my Gen 3 and it did not work right. One song was 5 times the volume on a CD and it did not limit the volume. It made my heart stop.

So raises or lower (or both) volumes based on vehicle speed.
In other words one is driving 25 mph sets volume then goes to freeway...does volume increase?
Or do 65 on freeway set volume and exit to side road at 25 (or stop) does volume lower?

I personally leave it off so I can control the sound quality.

Wind noise, cabin noise would be a better matrix...there is a microphone already in the car.

How does the sound equalization system truly work...service manual troubleshoot section offer any leads?

Coming from a car that did sound leveling very well, the Gen 4 sound leveling leaves much to be desired. It does do leveling, but from what I hear it's very slight and only raises the volume one level. I wish there was a sensitivity setting like on other option in the car, which seems overlooked. Even with the automatic sound leveling on I still find myself adjusting the volume up as I drive faster on the highway and then lower as I get off onto surface streets.

Never worked that great for me in Gen 2,3,and 4. Would rather have a max volume limiter/compressor.

Ditto. Looks like it hasn't been improved for Gen IV.

I agree that it isn't enough. But I turned it off and noticed I had to adjust it a lot more and more often. So, I turned it back on. Like you say, I still have to increase and decrease volume as I drive but it is better than without the levelizer.

Is there any way we can try to get Toyota to explain the function ?

I filed a complaint on this item on the official survey. It will get fixed in 2022.

I don't even know how to tune in radio channels yet. Lol.
Pressing the" seek" button on the steering wheel changes radio mode. Not a very easy system.

    LG-H901 ?

    Exactly
Steering wheel buttons just go through the presets/maybe

Use the arrow buttons on the right upper corner of the navigation screen for exact channels and then hold the station button in until it beeps
