My Prius Prime finally arrived! Picked it up from the dealership yesterday! I got 60 MPG on the way home. I know that number will improve but i'm a pretty happy girl! It was so nice to have the remote climate control this morning. Now I just need to figure out how to set the charging times.

Congrats! Tap the INFO bubble on the big screen and select charge schedule. p. 160 in the manual. I prefer to set departure time. It's ready to go when you need it.
Congrats...did it have a full charge when you picked it up? Nothing like that new car smell. May The Charge Be With You.
No, if you set the depart time, it will decide when to start to have it fully charged by then. It works.
This is a question that came up with the Gen 1 Plug-in Prius (PiP). Pretty much everyone was assuming even then that the two charge timers were one to specify the start time for the charging session, and one to specify the end time for the charging session. Like programming recording a TV show on a DVR. But no, what Toyota means is that you can EITHER specify the time to start charging OR specify the time that you want charging to be complete. It took a while to do the mental contortions to understand their mental model on this. Some felt that it must be something that didn't translate quite right from the Japanese mindset. Kind of like using the term "A/C" to mean either heating or cooling.
I set the timer for a departure time this morning and it worked great! My car was charged and the interior was nice and warm when I left. I LOVE THIS CAR!
Yup! I have a start time set for 4:30 AM so it's ready for me to go to work. And I have a stop time set for 4:30 PM so it's ready for me to go home. It's a simple matter of selecting which timing mode to use. And, if I have some place to go after supper, I plug it in as soon as I get home and don't use a timer. I understand that, in the Prime, you have to actually tell it not to use the timer.
Right. With the PiP, you had to turn on the timer every time, otherwise it begins charging immediately when you plug in. In the Prime, if there is a charging schedule set, that will be used when you plug in, unless you override it and say to charge now.
Hey new Prius buddy. We've had ours for over 2 weeks now and have used 5% of our Gas meter, drove 300mi, and have an avg. MPG of 178 according to the computer. All this, without being able to charge at home! WE LOVE IT!
