    Hello

I ordered a tow hitch from juicedhybrid. Did some reading here and it seems there are 2 models. One model seems to heat up from the exhaust and can damage the body, while the other one does not.

From the attached install directions can you tell me if this is the model which should not cause any heat issues?

PS: I am still laughing at the install estimate...I am not a DIY type of guy and I was figuring about 3 hour for it

They have a tech support number -- I'd just call them and ask.

    Hello shrktnk!

I'm Travis and I'm an employee of CURT Manufacturing, LLC. You are correct there are 2 models currently available for your Prius 11469 and 11276. The 11469 has been discontinued because it does not carryover to the Prius V, neither of which cause exhaust issues.

The issue that you are referring to is of an old hitch 11470 that has been discontinued and redesigned as 11468 which eliminated the possibility of heat damage.

If you have any questions please feel free to reply on this forum or contact me directly.

Sure but YOU did not have to return all those bolts to the owner, that has to save time.
