Is there a front hitch for gen 4

IF......you are asking because you want to pull the Prius behind another vehicle......any big RV dealer will know about that.
Most all of them involve some "custom" fabricating/welding.
BUT.....I think that it is NOT recommended to tow a Prius with all 4 wheels down.
A dolly might be a much better solution.

If that is not the reason for the question, more details are needed.

I think I'd rather have the RADAR Cruise. It was a "must-have" when I bought Samantha.

 

Why not just get a $30 come along and be done with it? No mounting hassles and usable for many other tasks I've used mine for everything from loading an immobilized John Deere onto a flat bed to pulling the same JD tractor from a slippery wetland bog.

I thinking of making a front tube pipe bumper using two of the front tow-eyes, for a custom look but also as safety straps for kayaks or other long roof loads, and to prevent damage when parking in city.

But the Come Along seems the sensible "can't afford not to buy" option.

But I wouldn't mind a front hitch for cargo tray or bike racks. They sell front hitches for full size USA trucks and vans and thinking of getting one for my GMC 2500 for an outside cargo/bikes that is out of way for rear doors and still streamlined and don't need a ladder to access like the roof.

Those tow hook holes are weak, trust me. The winch mount can be retrofitted to have 2" hitch receiver if you are interested.

 

I have thought about a cheap winch like this too. The problem is, you can assist the winch with the power of the car when using it. I have seen videos of Prius drivers who you a remote to assist while the drive the car.

 

have you ever been stuck in your Prius?
I don't feel all of the work to use that manual setup if you were to get stuck versus not going a cheaper route.

after being stuck more than once, no way I'd put myself through the work using anything manual to assist with recovery...

I was told try to rip the front off by the manufacturer, so I did... a few times unententionally. Once being pulled and tugged out of a ravine during a rainstorm. The mud and incline then the next thing you ow id slid into a bush. A nice guy in a 2500 pulled my out and after not knowing what lies ahead, he said its best to stay hooked to him, I was glad I did.
Had I used the standard tow hooks in the aluminum crash bar, there is no way I wouldn't have pulled one out, especially now that I know what holds that tow hook hole in place....

Hey! I’m a big fan of your videos! I love all the stuff you’ve done to your car. I’ve yet to be stuck but I think I made a typo. I am very much in favor of an electric winch over a hand crank. I think it’s pretty amazing how it fits inside the bumper cover.

I am very much in the early stages of my car. The only thing I have done is lifted in. I will go with bigger tires when it’s time for me to replace, which may be soon.

ahh okay cool and thank you! I love how you can either have it through emblem or coming out lower grill! Just wait until you see the full bumper metal replacements. thought is, I want extendable folding heavy duty arms on mine for a hammock, others bull bar... you mihg tbe able to inner change them all


can you tell I was standing there whaling my arms hoping you would avoid manual yes but more avoid the tow hook screw holes at all costs!
