As I understand it my 2005 non California Civic Hybrid was something like Super Ultra Low but not PZEV. Only the Calfornia version was PZEV.

So is the non California Camry Hybrid PZEV?

I think Subaru sells PZEV models now...

Camry Hybrids are AT-PZEV regardless of state.

I don't recall Toyota selling a Camry PZEV gasoline version elsewhere (Subaru and Ford have for CARB states).

A huge number of Subarus (somehow) qualify as PZEV. Basically every 4-cylinder/AT Legacy & Outback since 2008ish. That's about 90% of the total built. Probably a bunch of Imprezas too but I don't track those.

I think it's got more to do with the meaninglessness of PZEV than emissions reduction.

Cars actually having a different engine/emission system for federal and CARB states is rare these days. Though the company might certify to a worse emission bin in fed states for warranty purposes.

I've looked up SULEV and PZEV before with no real answers to my questions but just this last time found the exact answer so easily. I'm not sure why the answer eluded me in the past.

PZEV = SULEV + zero evap + longer warranty (15 year, 150,000 miles)

Tailpipe wise PZEV is basically the same thing as SULEV.

Well it does not look like that 15 year 150,000 mile thing exists. I just read the emissions warranty and it looks to be 7 year or 70,000 miles in California.
