Is the Safety Connect service included in the Advanced Package? I was under the impression that it is included, but I have seen the Vehicle Inquiry report for my car in transit and it states Safety Connect NO. I thought that it included a 3 year service. Can anyone who has received their car with the AT package confirm if Safety Connect is included and functional?
Packaging and options are different in certain regions. I have a 2011 Five w/ ATP I do not have LKA or SOS Safety Connect. Are you referring to Entune as the smartphone features? Neither Safety Connect or Entune are available in Hawaii so you are probably correct about one needing the other. Posted from my iPhone via the Tapatalk app.
No, I was referring to the Plug-in Prius smartphone specific apps, like Charge Management, Remote Climate Control, etc. I think the Smart Connect system is what allows communication between the car and your phone.
Ah ha I did not even look at what forum to which I was posting in my apologies. Now with that said it brings me to another question. Will all of the gee whiz apps. be available on the PiP's here in Hawaii and will they have Safety Connect? I don't think any have arrived here yet, I will just have to wait and see. Sort of. If you have a SafetyConnect subscription, then you can use the hybrid apps (which require a cellular connection to the Prius Plug-in Advanced). Once the SafetyConnect subscription expires and you don't resubscribe to SafetyConnect for $139.95/year, you can pay just for the hybrid apps for $5/month. It would be helpful to have a chart of all the connectivity features, and what service(s) they require - Entune (and what level), Safety Connect, both or neither. Maybe someone could start a Google Docs sheet? After the three year free subscriptions expire, will our own cellphones continue to work through the car's Bluetooth, without paying?
The phone functionality uses standard Bluetooth profiles, and only requires a Bluetooth-capable phone, not necessarily even a smart phone.
