Springtime is lovely in Montana. I took these photos at 7:45 this morning, and the weather only got worse from there. The wind blew, and it snowed all day (probably about 8-10" total). The sun didn't really come out until about 5 pm. Made for a great day of geophysics field camp. Gotta love Big Sky Country.
Stunning picture (top one)---a candidate for the calendar! Give me Montana any day. Glacier National Park, anyone? Love Missoula! Does Ted Turner own half the state yet?
Much nicer here. I checked the buoy report and the lake surface temperature is all the way up to 38F. WooHoo, let's go swimming! Tom

Yeah, Montana is great; but, unfortunately, the job market here is pitiful much like the economy. I will be moving to Anchorage, AK in but a few short weeks, and I couldn't be more excited. I would have to agree with you on Missoula, though. Hands down, it is my favorite city (ha!) in MT. Oh well. On to bigger and better things.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Jack Kelly @ May 22 2007, 09:08 PM) </div> You can drive through Big Fork? . . . or Kalispell? . . . or Whitefish? . . . on your way to Glacier, and still Love Missoula? WOW. If you stop by the Conrad Mansion, check the yellow house across the street from their gardens. If we're in town, we'll take you out the the "Back Room" . . . best ribs ever! BTW, We were in the 80 degrees range up there last week! So what part of the 4th largest state WERE those pics taken in?

Don't feel bad. In Atlanta, we had an extra ordinary horrible pollen season, and before that ends, we have total drought conditions, with the normal code red air pollution days because of the the traffic. This years bonus, thick black clouds of smoke from the Georgia/Florida forest fires. The news tells you to stay inside. Adult onset of asthma is epidemic. I am watering at my condos because of the watering ban. Even Odd system Midnight to 6 am. I can't stand to look at brown dead grass and bushes. In 1988 , when I moved here we had a few years of nice weather. Now it really sucks most all of the time. There has been a drought and a mosquito problem for about 8 years - go figure. You get a few weeks of fall and a few weeks of spring without pollen and that is about it.
YES I AM. Just last month I couldn't decide if I wanted to go 90 miles east and go snow skiing, stay in Sacramento and go water skiing, or go 90 miles west and play volleyball on an ocean beach. Life can be rough in Northern California.

Strangely enough, it's perfect here (NOW), 65 - 80 degrees everything is so green, saw some deer on my morning bikeride, cardinals, orioles, woodpeckers, and an assortment of other flying things and woodland creatures.
