The inverter failed on my 2010 Prius. Toyota had recalled this on previous models, but not the 2010 Gen III. The replacement cost is $3,400. Has anyone else exprienced an inverter failure. When it fails the car shuts itself off while you are driving. Luckily I was not on the freeway but was still nearly rearended and was lucky to get off the road with no power. Has anyone else experinced and inverter failur on this model. It appears to me that Toyota knows there was a problem and based onmy most recent experince it still is not fixed.
Unless the poster comes back and provides more details on the case, I would consider it one post hit and run.
There is more to this one-post reputation damage trolling. The OP has poor spelling skills and wrote "experince" twice in the same post. If you search for that distinctive spelling, you get a similar hit and run post suggesting a major flaw in Prius: unsafe stearing feel always correcting back and forth at 65 mph | PriusChat If I was an admin here, I would check IP addresses those posts/members originated from and see how many more damaging posts did they produce by this obvious astroturfing. It would be especially rewarding to track such IPs to a competition. I clicked on this post only because its the first time I recall seeing someone report an inverter failure. I'm sure there have been some, possibly due to failure of the coolant pump and/or reversed polarity jumping, but its not common.
You might be right... if OP doesn't return within a week w/reasonable responses, then I'd say they're a one-post troll.
My 2010 Toyota Prius has 175000 mileages on it and went into safe mode March 17, 2020 four emergency lights showed up on the dash; drove to an auto parts store, put on an OBD2 device, got codes P0A7A Generator Inverter Performance and P0A94 DC/DC Converter Performance. I was told by a mechanic that the codes indicate inverter and that it needs replacing. I am going to Toyota on Monday 18, 2020 to have them do a diagnostic to confirm for sure. I found the warranty enhancement program about warranty extension and the safety recall E0E(found on safety recall jov) documents here on Prius Chat, will bring them with me when I go in. Anyone have advice about what to do or how to handle this situation?
