Inverter/converter failure when i eccelerate hard

So when i just start to enter the freeway i floor it to really get moving but then it totally lights my dash up and I'm only 50 yards from the entrance so I pull over and it just dies. I try starting it and the motor sounds like crap as if the timing was all off or like its overheated but it isn't. So I try again after a few minutes and this time it starts up but still is a little shaky and in limp mode so i drive back to the house. I did have it on the power mode. I also have a brand new oem hybrid battery so it wasn't that even tho it had a fault code along with a inverter/converter fault code that showed it was no longer charging. I did a scan and tried to clear the inverter code but it would come right back on. I replaced the unit and all is well but now i hesitate to ever floor it again if and when i need that instant power. Its a mystery to me and i wonder if anyone has had this strange experience too?

I'm sorry if this might have been a old thread somewhere but i couldn't find it. Thanks for any help on this issue.

 

Thanks for the info. on that. Yup, its a pretty straight-forward process to replace the unit. I did this on a friends car and it was not a problem. I did do this myself on mine. The inverter was off a 2014 and mine is a 2012 but i will check this out as for a software update fix IF thats what could have caused this to happen. Thanks again.
