Driver fleeing LA wildfire sings Tesla's praises after little-known feature helps evacuation: 'Literally saving my life'
""When biodefense mode actually comes in handy for the Palisades Fire in LA. This Tesla is literally saving my life. Never buying another brand ever again," he shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The air filtration technology creates positive pressure inside the vehicle that keeps harmful particles out. Introduced in the Model X, this safety feature now comes standard in the Model S and Model Y, making these electric vehicles lifesavers during air quality emergencies."

    Update :
Here is a link with a video if you are like me and don't know what a Tesla biodefense mode air filtration actually is
Tesla driver shares incredible video showing off one model's ‘super-powered’ feature: ‘This ... is not a gimmick’

A similar factoid about all electric cars is they don't need a air source that will get jammed full of Ash and other particulate in a firestorm situation.

Reminds me to turn off my climate control and run in EV mode if I need to evacuate a wildfire in my Prius.

Not too many years ago in California the entire city of paradise and surrounding area burn to the ground. Many a car got choked out on the way out.

I would have never thought about that - air quality so bad that your cars internal combustion engine couldn't function correctly.

Can't say I'd want to see it, but if there were flames crossing the road ahead of me, I'd want to get through without my engine stalling. An EV seems like the best bet.

I don't plan to be driving by any active volcanoes either.

Looks like model Y Juniper is now available in china, which lets out of the bag many of the new features:

    Quick takes:

New Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version has 39 km more range compared with the previous Model Y (554 km vs 593 km under CLTC conditions)

The new RWD price is 13,600 yuan (1900 USD) higher than the previous Model Y (249,900 yuan vs 263,500 yuan)

The new RWD is 10 kg (22 lbs) heavier than the earlier version (1911 kg vs 1921 kg)

    No rumoured 800 V architecture

    Turn signal stalks are back

The peak charging rate is 250 kW

New Tesla Model Y Juniper launched in China ahead of the US

That light bar reminds me of a couple other new models. Wondering if its incorporation has anything to do with a lowered drag CD

Any of those features can be made easily available, but reliability is where the quality lies.
