I just received my Prius V cargo net, but there are no installation instructions. Any suggestions?

It's very easy..all you need is a small socket to remove one bolt on each side. You then insert the bolt through the supplied hook and then you re-install the bolt back. See the pictures below..

Note the hooks have a LEFT and RIGHT, and NO the hooks do not interfere with the cargo cover.

I just installed mine - after waiting an hour for the dealer to find the instruction sheet. Wish I had looked here for the post - first ;-)

    Installed now!

Thanks so much. Seems obvious now, but I can't figure out why they didn't include instructions.

Thank you cactus hybrid. With your help I installed it in less than 10 minutes, and saved me the wasted time of having the dealer do it at 5000 mile free servicing (rotate tires and check stuff).

Note that there is a right and left hook. Check the middle picture above to see which hook goes in the left side.

Does installing the hooks interrupt usage of the cargo cover?

    Thanks,

I thought about the cargo net and decided against it earlier, because there was drilling needed for earlier Priuses.

Now, I'll get one for my "v."

I noticed that there are identical bottom latches closer to the rear seats, but I was unable to find bolts similar to the ones by the cargo door for the top of the cargo net. What I ended up doing was just hook the tops to where the seat belts holders are.

I found this convenient for 2 reasons: 1) no tools required. 2) leaving the cargo net towards the back of the cargo area makes it easier to load and unload most items.

I'm Korean, so from time to time, I will have to transport a jug of kimchee from my parent's house. If you have any experience with it, any spillage will leave a wretched stench for an extended period. With my prior vehicles, I would wedge it in a corner with other items, and even then, items could slide and cause the jug to tip over. With the cargo net, it was pretty simple. Kept it upright the whole way, and no spillage.

Oh dear lord that would be horrid to spill kimchee. Haven't thought about that stuff in years but the word brings the smell right back. (I don't care for it myself but dated someone who did many years ago.).

Something to use caution on the cargo net is to be sure the net doesn't interfere with the latch mechanism for those installed at the rear of the cargo area. W

Installed mine yesterday. Works good and thanks to the great pictures above, I only had the hooks backwards once.... ;)

Referring to your middle picture, I rotated the hooks forward a little before bolting them down. This moves the net an inch or so further away from the rear door and helps reduce contact between the door and the net's contents.

Instructions from Toyota say the hooks should be at the bottom of the recess, oriented as shown in the picture. The pull tab should be towards the rear of the vehicle and the hooks should be facing the other way, with the sharp pointy part pointing towards the front of the vehicle, not the rear.

Yup. In my alteration the metal hooks remain at the bottom of the recess but are oriented forward instead of rearward . (I may have switched the left and right metal bolt-on hooks to facilitate this...don't recall). This changes nothing on the net's setup. The pull tab is still towards the rear and the net's plastic hooks point towards the front. However the net is now an inch or so farther inward from the rear door.

I realize my post is vague. (Sorry, sometimes I'm typing in the middle of the night.) The metal hooks in the pictures are correct. The hooks of the net should point in the other direction, more specifically hooked onto the metal D ring the other way.
