As I mentioned before the original radio that comes with my 2015 Prius Plugin (not JBL) has terrible sound quality so I'm planning to switch with a 2010 JBL manufactured by Denso 86120-47390, 468100-0585.
Toyota Prius radio/CD/GPS - auto parts - by owner - vehicle...
Both have the same connections looking from the back. What problems may I encounter if I install the 2010 radio in my 2015 PPin?
    Thanks!

I would take an extra close look at that. I still have a 2012 sitting on a shelf that I have yet to install in my 2010 because the connections are so different, and in my case both of those are JBL.

I don't know about Gen 3, but Gen 2 JBL has a specific JBL amplifier under the passenger seat and the speakers are different impedance.
