Hey fellow cult members! The Indiana Highway is within range and scheduled to land EARLY!!! It wasn't scheduled to be in Benicia until the 27th, but it looks like it'll be there some time around noon today, Monday, the 26th! PiP PiP Hooray! Now we can begin a new phase of our insanity! On to the next 'step' in our recovery - waiting for word that our PIP is on the way to our dealer!COuld some of us maybe even have our car by the end of the week?
Haha, seem's I was not the only one jockeying for the camera to see the ship pass under the Golden Gate Bridge at the Exploratorium: San Francisco Bay Area Internet Guide - Live Bay Area Cams, Weather, Traffic, Astronomy, Culture, Music - Web Development Services - Hosting, Graphics, Flash Animation, 3D, E-commerce and Promotion
The Indiana Highway has just arrived at Benicia. Hopefully the PIPs get loaded up on trucks soon and get to dealerships within a few days.
Isn't there a bit of work done on arriving cars at the port? Essentially completing the manufacturing process with respect to local requirements.
Could be, I have heard this happens with some cars too. But my dealer mentioned that the main delay from port to dealership was arranging truck transport. When Indiana Highway was about 1/2 way en route, I had an ETA to dealership showing as 3/29-4/5 in their system. My dealer just notified me that my status "changed this morning from A - Allocated to F - Freight status with a narrower window of March 28-April 1."
That's my impression, based on the delays we've seen people discuss here on the boards. Gosh, some folks have waited over two weeks from the time their ship has come in until the time their PIP arrives at their dealership! YIKES!
Living near Indy, I enjoy Indiana Highways, but have not gone ga ga over them like you guys have.....ha ha ha.
Indiana Highway docked in Benicia at 1:20 pm on Monday, 3/26. I got my 'final email' from Toyota letting me know my baby was on its way to my dealer today, 3/27, at 5:30pm, which is apparently a lot better timing than many people have experienced. I also got an email from the maritime tracking site letting me know that the Indiana Highway left Benicia this evening, headed for Long Beach, so start tracking, all you SoCal peeps. In an abundance of optimism I am hoping that my baby gets to the dealer by this weekend...we'll see.
Congrats!! I am hoping to pick mine up on Monday the 9th in San Diego - I think this timing will work out perfectly (I will be out of town for Easter weekend and didn't want to leave the new baby home alone )
