Hi. When I turn on the headlights of my 2010 the dash backlight dims considerably. It becomes difficult to see/read when the sun hits it just right...especially wearing polarized sunglasses. I have the dimmer switch set all the way high. Is there a way to increase the backlighting or have it not dim as much with the headlights on? Thanks
Do you have the dimmer set to Max? Not just rotated up, but turn it harder till it clicks up, past a detent, all the way to Max setting. It gets Much brighter on Max setting, I can see it fine with my polarized sunglasses. The navigation screen is a whole other story though.
Yep, there's a big difference between pseudo max, and the max setting beyond the detent. If he can't see the dash on Max, then he shouldn't be driving.
I've noticed a lot of Prius drivers using their headlights during the day. I'm curious why, considering the car already has daytime running lights.
The 2010 -2011 Prii didn't have DRLs. And the dealers apparently aren't good about showing new users how to turn on the drls.
