05 Toyota Prius. car locks and unlocks and starts in ready mode. just have the red car with key in the middle light on dash blinking? hooked up my xtool D8 code scanner and get code B2796? how do I fix it? or what parts do I need to replace? so it communicates with the immobilizer?
just a guess, maybe the immobilizer ecu has corroded pin connectors. might be worth looking it up in the service manual to see where it is
Ok bought a new key fob from Toyota dealer. programmed the fob with my xtool D8 and cleared the the codes. security light is off and working properly again. thanks for the help.
