ICE shutdown position

    Awhile ago we were having a technical discussion about ICE shutdown. It's been commonly claimed on PC that the Prius ICE rotates to a preferred position when turning off, sometimes leading to the engine shudder felt at ICE shutdown. When this idea was challenged, none of us could produce any documentation.

    Have any of you come across any documentation that verifies the preferred position shutdown?

    Original thanks should go to ken@japan. He posted it over a year ago. I used it, suitably reformatted for printing, plasticized the printouts, and carry them in a binder when I attend car shows.
