I would imagine in this Spokane cold-weather five through 30 would be a oil l to use during winter?

The manufacturer recommends 0w-20 synthetic oil at an oil change interval of 10k miles or one year, whichever comes first.

0w20 is common for all GenII and GenIII's. It just wasn't really available in 2004 so the GenII's were stamped with 5w30 and 5w20 depending on region. But almost everyone that asks for specific oil and not just "a change" at a quick lube place, will put 0w20 in no matter where they are.

In the US, Toyota changed oil recommendation just after the 2010s came out. So Gen 3 is 0-w0 synthetic, (also a good choice for Gen 2) while the manual for all Gen 2 is 5-w20 so far as I know.

In other parts of the world, recommendations vary.
