I saw a weird I prius today. I expect a Gen I. Why no area for them?

It reminded me a bit of the Coda. The coda was a ill fated mid range 100+ mile range all electric car. The Body was made in China and had a lot of quality issues. My wife and I tried one out, and actually got locked in the drivers side - the door lock didn't work and we could not open the door. The drive train seemed like it might have been good, but the quality issues and extreme crudeness of the top part kept buyers away.

there is one forum, but it's inside the gen II area, a bit hard to find. i don't no if the question has ever been answered, but i suspect it's because it hasn't been in production for over 12 years.

unless you're talking about the coda, i guess you could post under ev's.

No I know about coda…I was thinking about getting one. Glad I didn't. This was definitely a Prius.

funny that's the first one you noticed, there are still quite a few running around here. it's not an iconic shape like gen II though.

Until you know what to look for, it is easy mistake it for an Echo on the roadway.

I saw one gen1 back during its era. I've seen more of them after the gen2 came out.

There's one I see in a nearby carport, collecting dust.

I doubt it's been driven in a year or two but it looks to be in good condition externally. Someone's keeping the tires inflated, etc.

I've always liked the appearance of the little guy but don't need any more cars.

pulling up across from one in a parking lot was my intro to prius. it must have been in '01 or '02. i saw the badge on the rear and after investigating, became intrigued by the technology, only to find out you couldn't get one. when the gen II came out, i put my name on the waiting list and the rest is history.
