Welcome! As with any vehicle, you can go to Autozone and have them scan the code for you. It will not give you Prius specific codes as to what they are or sub-codes but it will get you started. Doesn't sound you know much about cars, so I would find a mechanic you trust and has experience with hybrids. When the check engine light is on, there a laundry list is issues that can cause it to light up. It's usually not a simple DIY fix, unless your gas cap is loose.
