    Our car is a 2015 prius c with 1.5 engine.....I am guessing the hybrid system it has is second generation....is that right?

    The 1.5 engine has been around since Gen 1, but the Prius c appeared in the years of Gen 3 and uses recognizably Gen 3 tech, including in its version of the 1.5 engine.
