I can't find the, or a, Gen 4 pricing thread, so... where am I with this?

Hello, and thanks for at least checking this out. By all means - if there is a main thread, let me know where it is.

2019 L Eco - no options other than the white color ($349 fee).

This is the first quote I've got (dealers here don't even want to quote L Eco's - they aren't ordering them, and don't expect them in), and I can tell it's high compared to the LE quote I got from the same dealer.

Where should I be with this - $23,200 OTD?

that "Dealer Service Fee" is bogus. Give away with the left and take away with the right.

Thank you. Yeah, I know about that part. I want to know how deep of discounts folks have been getting off of the core sticker price.

Well, you just missed the quarter-end and month-end manufacturer incentives. Best to play one, two, or three dealers against each other and play the "match" game. I always start by calling or emailing the high-volume dealer in my are and get their price as a starting point - don't even have to go in.

Thanks. Good point. I have emailed five dealerships to see which actually have internet departments I can work with. Some seemingly don't have such departments, and just keep begging me to come in. I used to sell Hondas, so I know what their goals and hopes of having customers stop in are for.

Thus far, really only one is communicating with me. It seems that there was a change in internet department structuring within the car industry a few years ago, and they've all switched to begging / demanding / conning customers to come in to talk about the 'options' instead of just reading and trying to match a set of specs.

For example "Looking to find and purchase a White 2019 L Eco" - That really isn't a difficult thing to at least say "Hey, Dave, we have a Green L Eco in stock," or "Sorry, we don't have any, but we do have a White LE we can make you a sweet deal on," and so on. That used to be the thing. Now, though, they seem to pay internet people to type drivel and offer nothing useful. I say this because the initial searches were not for a Prius at all, but something entirely different. I worked with a few more active internet departments on that make/model, but the strangest was that I kept (and still do) getting e-mail ads showing the EXACT vehicle I wanted as new and in stock, yet the two people with their internet department couldn't put two and two together to match my spec to a vehicle their dealership was advertising they had in stock.

I wasn't about to tell them about it. Either they never, ever checked their in-stock inventory for internet customers, or the vehicle being advertised isn't really for sale anymore.
