I know that nerfer posted something similar but I'd be remiss if I didn't post this like I do every month when it hits the press.

Hybrid sales were up considerably in Nov year on year. The Prius did quite well but several models that had seen sagging sales picked up. Notably the Hihy and Rx400h. The FEH/MH posted a strong month and the Nissan Altima had it's best month with over 1000 vehicles sold (the altima is only available in 8 states, not sure which ones).

    Shiny graphic

We wouldn't want you to be remissed.

Yep, it's always a race to see who gets the numbers out first. I report the raw numbers including the Prius but usually doesn't include all the other hybrids, and you have the shiny graphic for all hybrids.

Thanks Nerf. I'm glad you have my interests in mind. :)
The cool bit is that hybrids accounted for 2.8% of LDV sales in NOV. AFAIK, that's an all time high. I like those GCC articles because they give an overview of the hybrid segment and it's relation to automobile sales as a whole.

Several months ago, Green Car Congress web site was posting monthly Prius figures (I believe the same site that tripp gets his information from). The last graphic they posted was Sept. 07. I added the current information for Oct. 07 (13,158) and Nov. 07 (116,737). See Below:

    Just a few figures:
    • Prius sales up 109%
    • Dodge Ram sales down 29.3%
    • Chrysler is in their 2nd year in the red
    • 2007 hybrid sales are going to be about 350,000 - up from about 250,000 last year (from the top of my head - more exact figures appreciated)
    • SUV sales are up, but only because there is a gut on the used sales lot
    Anyone see a pattern?

It depends on the vehicle. Some of the expensive SUVs still have strong sales, because people buying those don't really care about the cost of gas. Relatively speaking, gas is still cheap. People in the middle of the market are more frequently opting down a size or getting a hybrid.
I have a friend who's always owned luxury jeeps or SUVs and he's selling a couple vehicles and planning on buying Fits or Versas instead. That's a definite switch. His business is cleaning office buildings and such, and he lost a contract with a GM dealer, apparently they were feeling the pinch.
