I have a 2010 Prius with 206,000 miles and the following codes just appeared:
Check Hybrid Battery (middle of screen in a box)
Red triangle with “!” in middle
    Check engine light (in red)
The nearest dealer is 14 miles away.
    1) Can I still drive the car 14 miles safely without damaging it?
    2) If yes is it better to drive side streets slowly or can I drive it normally via the freeway?
    3) Lastly, this seems to be textbook replace hybrid battery. Is the total cost for that at the dealer about $4,600?

I don't think there is an indicator that says "hybrid battery". It'll give you hybrid system malfunction, or something generic.
You can drive it to a local shop in Rosemead "Armstrong Auto Services), and they can diagnose your car without the dealership $150 charge. Their prices for hybrid batteries will be lower too.

Get an OBD2 reader like this one: Panlong OBD2 Scanner Bluetooth OBDII Diagnostic Tool Car Code Reader Turn Off... | eBay so you can use a phone app to get the actual error codes so we can walk you through your options. Don't take it to a Toyota Stealership, they are warranty specialists who are experts in making repairs cost as much as possible. Depending on the error codes you could have something that cost less than $100 to fix and Toyota will no let you have that option because they can't rip you off that way.

Are you positive it said that, and not check hybrid system (third row, second column below)? There's a lot more to the hybrid system than just the battery.

Maybe start by buying something like an AP200 That's 60 bucks That's less than half of the $150 diagnostic charge and most of that diagnostic charges for them using their top don scanner or whatever. And then the person who's running that scanner they're interpretation comes into play. So before I start spending $159 a pop for somebody to read codes and give me their spin I'd rather own a capable code reader that might be able to do some service functions that I own and doesn't cost $300 probably one of the best $66 purchases you'll make and use. Might want to look into it that AP200 is discontinued It's white in color If you can get a hold of one you should If you can't and they're all gone well sorry
