    Hello, having trouble getting HA to connect or pair to bluetooth obd2, tried Camry AVV40 and Prius XW30, tried 4 different mobile devices and two different obd2 adaptors including popular Viecar V4.0 which is known to work well for most others

    Dr Prius and a couple other hybrid apps connect fine, its just HA wont work and I want it to command the fan ramp up on hot days!

    BTW i am in Australia not sure if that makes any difference

    Hybrid Assistant is very particular about what OBDII adapter you use because it needs very high speed. Here's the page where they list what they know works and doesn't work. I already had three adapters including Carista that didn't work or didn't work completely. I broke down and sprang for the OBDLink LX and it works flawlessly. Not cheap but no more hassles.

    Hi Jerrymildred, thanks very much for that :) I actually bought the Carista Viecar v4.0 because it was recommended on the list, and high speed

    Go back to the list today and it says results may vary for the Carista adaptor and be aware of clones! i have to think we have clones

    Question is now, what is the cheapest known working adaptor :)

    Cheers thanks again for the advice much appreciated..

    Keep in mind that what works on your 2010 might not work on the next car. The Prime, for example uses some tech that the Carista can't access. It's OK for code reading/resetting and customizing on my Prime, but can't keep up with HA's demands. HA is pulling a lot of data. The OBDLinx LX I got is the cheapest I found that for sure works. I might have spent a few hundred dollars trying out cheaper ones, but I just decided I already own enough cheap ones. Too many, in fact.

    Thanks again Jerrymildred

    I just read again the Carista is actually in the list of known working adaptors for most cars pre 2015, so we must have got clones

    and although it says Viecar on the adaptor and package, it only said Carista on the ebay listing, not on the adaptor! thanks again china

    @ozmatt

    You can let ebay know and you will get your money back.

    Report the seller and the item as fake and point out the listing says Carista not icar or whatever it is.
