I have a Toyota traction battery in my '01. Is there a date code on the label somewhere thta would tell me how old it is?
Any ideas? Would it matter anyway what date is on the battery? My 12v was replaced in 2008 with a Toyota battery that has a 2002 date code on it.
Are you asking about the HV battery or the 12V battery? Anyways, I believe if they replaced your 12V battery in 2008, they put in an older Panasonic or whatever battery that probably was mfg in 2002. AGM deep cycle lifespan is 4-8 years with being used with 80% discharge. I imagine sitting on a shelf as long as they are periodically charged back to full they will last a long time.
I was asking about the age of the HV battery. The guy I got the car from said that it had been replaced and I was trying to find out when because it doesn't show on the history report. I brought up the 12v because the date on my HV could come back with an old date also which would either mean it wasn't replaced or replaced with an older battery.
You can decode the Serial Number to get the date code. For individual modules, you can refer to this thread. Vincent
