    We've all heard the complaints about the steering wheel partially blocking the MID (multi-information display).

    Well I'm here to tell you that the current configuration works exactly as it should. It takes a little getting used to, and first impressions are giving people pause, but have a look at the following pictures:

    The steering wheel is supposed to "block" the bottom part of the HUD. The instruments are designed to reside just above the highest point, where your eyes naturally follow the road. Look at the photo with the wheel lower. You have all that blank space showing. That's not correct. Spend a little time with the wheel in the proper location and you'll get used to it fairly quickly. And once you do, you'll see the genius in the designer's work.

    I finally got the pics to upload right.

    The first picture depicts the wheel in a lowered (relative) position exposing the entire LCD screen. This is not correct.

    In the 2nd and 3rd pictures, you see the wheel much more upright and "blocking" the useless part of the instrument panel. This gives the driver a good view of important details with the eyes not wandering far from the road. Smart/safe idea, and I love it!

    I believe that setting the wheel in this position should allow for a bunch of different sized humans to see the entire screen as it was intended. But make no mistake, it WILL seem kind of weird at first. Much of this car will be an adjustment to those who have driven prior generations (even the last).

    I disagree that the steering was designed to cover part of the info display. Can you still see all the info if it does? Sure, but at 5'10", I and my wife who is 5'6" can both find comfy positions to see the info display completely with no blocking. Combination of seat height and steering wheel/column adjustment makes it possible for just about any size to see the entire info display with no blockage.

    Just seeing this now. I’ll test it out during my test drive tomorrow. Yep…I’m taking the Toyo tires for a test drive. : }

    There's nothing to see in the bottom third of the display. And the info that isn't blocked fits right around the curvature of the wheel. If that isn't "on purpose", then can we agree it's a happy accident. :LOL:
