Came across this fastener on an underbody panel at the rear of my 2017 Prime (removing panels to mount a hitch). Tried turning it, but no luck. Any tips on how to remove it? Thanks.

Try pushing down and/or prying up on that central bit?

Thanks, I’ll try, but might be a little awkward trying to do both at the same time in tight space. Why do manufacturers create a variety of odd fasteners when a simple pan head screw would do?

To save weight. It looks like those "tabs" might be for inserting something wide and flat, then turning counter-clockwise. Just a guess...

Yeah, that was my first move, but just turning doesn't do it. Pushing the blue pin doesn't work either (it's not a pushable pin, it's the tip of the post on which the fastenter sits). I ended up turning and yanking down hard as I turned. It broke free. Nolt sure if that was the right process, but it worked.
