How to disable door ajar light?

    I have a 2007 Prius with 185,000 miles. The back door handle is getting kind of janky and sometimes it doesn't close quite hard enough to tell the car that the door is closed, thus leaving the "DOOR AJAR" light on. This isn't an issue except that it drains the 9V battery, especially if I'm out of town for a while.

    Is there any way I can disable the "DOOR AJAR" light on the dash to prevent the 9V battery from draining?

    probably have to find the connectors in the hatch and wire them together. doesn't the dome light stay on as well?

    I leave the dome light permanently off for the same reason. Thanks for the response--I'll see if I can permanently connect them.
