second owner of this 2007 blue prius.
it has 250k miles on, replaced the hybrid battery with a 2009 one i found in the junk 3 years ago, never have problem since. replaced ICE coolain pump.
now the check engine light is on, most-likely the exhause is shot, also 12v battery is bad, need to be replaced.
i kind of don't need this car now, what's my best option?

There's a huge difference in pricing for low 100K mile Prius compared to a Prius with over 200K miles. Also west coast prices have doubled. So low mileage Gen2 Prius out here will sell for $10K or more... A Prius in your mileage range are close to half that value.

Yeah I love seeing people buying these '09s '07 to '09 Prius with 250 270 paying 7 grand form thinking they've done something not even having an idea what is going on 3 days later all the lights come on blah blah blah No one does their research they have all this information in front of them all over the place and they just plop down the cash and drive off in 3 days later $4,000 worth of work that's incredible people must have it to burn because they certainly don't act like they using their brains to keep from doing that.

Go online and look at prices for Gen2 as if you were going to buy one. Some listings are still crazy high, but it should give you a ballpark figure.

According to Edmunds (and based on some assumptions I made in addition to your provided info), your car is probably worth around $2300. I found some 2007 Prii in your area selling for $6000, but they had far fewer miles and had no mechanical issues.

wash dc area we paid 3200 ? i think for a 2008 that was mint inside and out but had the cat stolen in june mileage was a little over 100k, agree with the 2300 and that might be high except cat prices are still high

Since you don’t know and seem not to care what the latest problems are with your car, the value is less to a diligent buyer. In five minutes you could read the codes and see if there is a simple solution. In NY you need an expensive catalytic converter if that’s the problem. Go to CarMax and get a quote, then add a couple thousand and list it on Craigslist, taking whatever you can get or just sell it to @Tombukt2. Bluebook values are a joke.

fix it and sell it, you'll do far better than finding a bottom feeder or parts car
