Hi guys, my vehicle is a 08 touring with 140k miles, couple weeks ago I was driving and out of the blue everything shut off on its own, had to tow the vehicle home, after looking around found out it was the water pump inverter was done for, i called toyota dealer and was told this recall has been done already on my vehicle (2 owner), I left it at that, recalls are done only once, even if they fail again?
generally speaking, yes, nothing lasts forever. the replacement probably had a one year warranty. it's not too difficult or expensive to diy
I just bought a spare to keep in the prius all the time. Its just an issue we gotta deal with on our own. I mean considering how many miles you have on the car and water pumps the only issue Id say you got your moneys worth lol Its a super simple part to replace on your own.
In this case....yes. As stated before....replacing it is fairly straightforward, and inexpensive. Good Luck!
