I'm working at a large campus in Burlington, MA. There is at least 4 other priuses, 2 civics, a camry hybrid or two and 1 ford escape.

Driving back to somerville I see at least 5-6 other priuses. In cambridge/somerville this is one of the most common car and a "fashion statement" :-D

For once I like being part of something big!

I work at a large company and there are lots of Prii.

The last few weeks I've also been doing some work at a well funded start-up in the area. In the parking lot are the requisite Ferraris, large Mercedes, and one Aston Martin Vanquish. However the highest quantity of one make of car is the Prius by a looongshot. When I was over there yesterday there were 4 Prii in a row right in front of hte building and at least 4 others spread out around the lot. This is out of a total of about 50-70 cars.

Makes me wonder, are Prius drivers more entrepenurial? Or maybe more of risk takers? Or (most likely IMHO), time is money and these cars were mainly purchased for the HOV stickers?

I think the prius is a cheap status symbol. If you drive a prius people in their BMW can't really say much. The prius changed the game, no longer is "fast" the cool, and a loaded prius has all the gadgets of a merc or beemer for far less money.
I know I piss off my friends who drives Lexus SUVs... They don't want to talk cars around me any more. :)

Anywhere from 3 to 5 (including mine). I work at ISE, so I see hybids other than the Prius (BTW, if you go to the link and watch the Channel 10 video, mine is the first Prius you see).

At least 50 and that's just in my parking lot. I work in the building that houses Toyota headquarters. This must be Priusville, USA.

a prius seems to be a status symbol with lawyers, at least in LA.

There are 200 people at my office, there are 5 Prii, a Hylander and RX400h.

All but one were purchased in part or mostly because of my influence.

That makes 3.5% penetration rate for Toyota hybrids.

    Hi All,

There is only one in my workplace, mine, and no other hybrids out of about 150 cars. In the buisness park where I work, there are at least 4, out of about 10000 cars. I see many more Civic Hybrids than Prius's. Around my suburb I see equal numbers of the pre 2004 and post 2004 Prius. Am seeing more post 2004 Prius's around town lately. Yea, 3 months ago I saw two to three times more pre 2004 Prius's around town than post 2004 Prius's !

The Prius is slow to catch on here in Chicagoland, mostly because of the odd allocation thing Toyota did. People will run their cars into the ground, and only buy when they need something. Unfortunately, even a 3 week wait is too long in that situation due to the weather in the midwest and unidirectional mass transit. Until recently the wait here was over 3 months and more like 6 months a year ago.

I ended up having to buy out of state to get a firm delivery date. I did not drive my previous car into the ground, however. Took a little 400 mile train trip, and drove it back.

    Hi All,

Oh, one odd thing. In my town and the next one over, there are five Ham Radio operators (including me) that own Prius's out of maybe a couple hundred hams in the two towns. One guy I know from on the air and professional atitivies, another I saw his Ham plates on a gen 2, another I talked to his wife while she was waiting at the farmer's market (she said they had his and hers gen one Prius!), and the fifth has a pre 2004 and lives about 4 blocks away from here (has HF beam on tower).

There aren't any employees at the dealership I work at with any sort of hybrid vehicle. There are 4 techs who ride their cycles through the summer and I use my scooter(100mpg). I plan on being the first with a hybrid. It'll be an 08 Prius of course.

At my parking lot there's one white Gen 1 Civic Hybrid. Additionally, there are two 2007 Prius (my company's cars - which I procured a couple of months ago  )... and my own, which is either the 2006 Civic Hybrid or the 2007 Prius - I alternate between the two :D . For now the HCH2 is used more often because of its slightly better FE in extreme cold. <_<

In a bigger picture though, I do not see many privately owned Priuses. Same for HCH2's. However, the streets are filled with Taxi Priuses. It just feels like the taxi companies are hogging the local hybrid vehicle supplies.

    Cheers;
