How long does it take your gen5 prime to charge from zero range? Something wrong with my battery?

Online it says leave 1 charge takes 11 hours. When I plug mine in, it says 9:20 to full charge. What is your full charge time?
I’ve also noticed I’m not getting the range I expected to get (and it’s not because of driving style). Is it possible my battery has some cells that are bad? Is there a way to test battery capacity?
(I have RAV4 Prime too, and that says online 12:30 to full charge and my display shows approx 12:30 each time).

range is not a fixed number, it is changeable. the epa is a specific test, you shouldn't expect any particular range, there are too many factors involved, only some of which are under your control.
you can get a tool to measure kwh charged, and that will tell us if your battery is healthy.
some public chargers also report kwh as well.
in all likelihood, it is your espectations that are the problem.
there are lots of threads in the gen 4 prime forums that cover this in detail.

It's an imperfect world out there, so when you feed a computer more accurate information - it gives you a better approximation. It's as simple as that......

Are you going to be equally upset, when your DTE (distance to empty) rolls over to zero and the car doesn't stop dead in it's tracks or would you prefer it to continue to run?

If you think you have a problem, take it in for service - It's under warranty......

Thanks for the response. How long does your Prius Prime charge from empty?
Like I said, it’s not due to driving style / conditions. I drive in optimal range conditions, all low speed, flat, limited lights and stops. In my RAV4 Prime, I consistently get 60-62 miles of EV range when EPA is 42miles. It even shows in my estimated range after a full charge. I was expecting more range than I’m getting with my Prius Prime XSE Premium. And seeing the battery saying only 9 hours to charge when most say it should take 11 hours, it makes me wonder if the battery has problems. I guess I’ll leave it on a charge point charger one day and see how much of a charge it will take. But what should that number be? 10.5kwh? 10.9kwh?

Again, I know it’s not due to driving style and conditions. I’m calculating how many actual miles I am getting on a full charge, not what the estimated range is. It seems suspicious that I am getting less than I thought I would AND the battery is taking 2 hours less to charge than they say it should. (For reference my RAV4 Prime charges in 12.5+ hours and it is supposed to be 12.5 hours, and I get 60-62 miles of range but it’s all low speed, flat, not a lot of lights or stop signs. )

At the 12 amp setting - Charging time from empty is about 10 1/2 to 11 hours at 120 volts and 4 1/2 to 5 hours at 240 volt level 2.

There’s also an 8 amp setting that extends the 240 volt time to about 7 hours.

I haven’t used the 8 amp much at 120 volts because I believe it is inefficient and takes about 17 hours.

Li-ion does go through a breaking period where it doesn't reach full capacity. perhaps this the case. If so, it will clear up with use.

There are some questions to go over though.
Are you doing trips completely on EV? Maybe the EV mode portion of the battery isn't completely drained.
Where are you, and do you start the charge as soon as you get home? Climate and the battery's temperature will affect charge times. The link in post #7 was seeing a 9hr charge time during a NJ summer.
