So there I was....... Pulling into Home Depot. In the space I usually park there's a silver Prius, so I figure I'd park next to it. As I get out and walk around I notice the license plate and it looks familiar. I look at mine, then look back at the other.... WE'RE 1 DIGIT APART!!!!!!! Consecutive license plate numbers on the same 2007 Silver Toyota Prii. HOW COOL. So I waited to see who was going to drive away. A nice family started getting in so we had to strike up a conversation. I figured we would've bought them close to each other but it didn't turn out that way. I bought mine Oct 31, he bought his in December. Both Silver, Package #4, I have 7100 miles he has just over 10K. I drive to San Diego and he drives down to Mexico. I've modded mine, he hasn't so mine's the one on the right with the fin. He does his own maintenence, I bought the package so I don't have to worry about it. He gets 43mpg, I'm getting 48.6, he has stock tire pressure, I'm up to 55psi, in town driving is a killer. I've never seen consecutive license plate numbers before. And to have the same color, make, model, year, and package # from the same dealership next to each other and in order........ There must have been a star align somewhere, or it was that damn stray kitten I bought food for a couple weeks ago and karma is somehow catching up to me.
The numbers look doctored. If you look at the emblems and the frames on the cars they are soft focused. The numbers on the license plates are sharp. Maybe it is my April Fools paranoia, but I am skeptical. If I am wrong, then that is really cool.
I KNOW!!!!!! THERE'S NO WAY ANYONE COULD HAVE CALLED THAT What could the odds be on that one. Well I'm taking this for a ride, I'm buying lotto tickets......
That is truely amazing. And look at the subtle differences as well. You park with your left front wheel up to the tree planter, but he parks with his right front wheel up to the tree planter.
I have consecutive numbers on my two plates, for the Pri and RAV4. You can do it here, just order them, as long as the plate hasn't been used for 18 months.
He told me he bought his in December, when it got registered, well looks like Oct. The dealership probably held a bunch and did them in a group. That's why they're consecutive yet sold months apart. The dealership is new and was only around for a couple months before I bought mine. They might have been in the proccess of registering they're vehicles. It's one thing to fake a crystal clear digital picture, it's another to fake a crappy cellphone picture, 2.0mp my arsss. If 302 wasn't mine I'd raise the flag too, that's why I took a picture. I did hit a bird on the way to work today so I think the magic's over....
One of our neighbors (two blocks away) has a mag grey Prius. Their license plate is really close to ours (same letters, different numbers), even though they've had their Prius 6 months longer. Our Buick and our Prius have almost identical license numbers... just one letter is different! Sometimes, weird sh*t happens. Hey, you need to mod your Prius more. Like, stick a prius chat decal on their or something
I think it all has to do with the speed and efficiency with which the dealer processed the paperwork to obtain the plates from the state. When we bought our 2008 Prius, the salesman told us that it would take from a minimum of 45 days to as long as 90 days to receive the plates. However, he mentioned that their dealership could bypass a lot of the delay time, and in fact the plates arrived only two weeks after we bought the car. Obviously some dealerships are quicker than others. Bob N.
wow, strange coincidence. that's gotta be really rare. DH's new plate has the same set of numbers as mine, but different letters. weird!
I was thinking about one of those Prius brake light stickers. Still on the lookout for Saab 95 Aero seats. How about running boards and a rallye light bar on front?
