I was cleaning the battery fans and with all the back trays out, I found this hook thing just sitting on the stud in the back drivers side corner. What is it and am I missing something that should be there?
Maybe it's misplaced from something else and doesn't belong there at all? Doesn't look like it makes sense being there.
I got the car used, but it came from a single owner when it only had 16K miles on it back in 2016. She worked at the toyota dealer it came from, and had nothing but dealer maintenance at 5,10,& 15K, and then I got my hands on it. So I have to think it came like that new. The only other tidbit, is it was the original dealer up to another dealer in Seattle area, where I bought it. Still can't imagine either dealer was in there at that mileage. And yes, it is a mystery.
Yes, it's a threaded stud. The hook thing was just there, and it's not threaded, just sitting there. Weird.
So........ Threaded stud is used to attached the upper tray ( should be a black plastic nut) As for the hook, it looks like part of an Oem Toyota aftermarket cargo net used to hold groceries down. iPhone ?
No plastic nut, doesn't even look like the stud pokes through. On closer inspection, there's the same hook thing used with a black rubber band holding the air pump in the tray. Must be an extra one for whatever reason someone else was in there.
