    Yeah, the article is comparing Clarity Japanese rating to Mirai US.

    The 3 minute refueling is best case with a top spec refueling station. The standard that it is capable under will allow it to take 15 minutes if need be for safety. Lower spec stations, with warmer pre chilling temperatures, will take longer.

    Refueling takes less then 5 minutes, that is the beauty of these cars compared to an EV. :)

    Here is the picture of the original Honda, still very modern.

    It's reported to be around 300 epa miles. My guess is honda would try to beat Toyota's 312 by a tiny amount, but mainly has a more polished 5 seat car versus the mirai. Honda is even pricing it the same.

    With a whopping 200 leasses this year in japan to businesses and government, I doubt we will see many clarities in the US. Honda will probably just put enough out there so that those with mirai hands up, look at it and delay their orders. IMHO honda is clearly affraid of the model 3 in america, and will not spend a lot promoting this car in the US. It will push some out so it gets more zev credits and doesn't need to buy them from tesla or nissan.

    If we could just get the mass infrastructure. If the industry "decides" to go this way...maybe our great grand kids will benefit...if it is a benefit.

    if by industry, you mean the carbon fuel industry - needed to (not even) almost economically make hydrogen, well the Government tried to force the oil industry into building the infrastructure here in Cali. The oil companies sued to prevent the government from making them use their profits to build hydrogens' trillion-dollar infrastructure. Now one might think that if there were any profit in selling carbon fuel for hydrogen extracting, you'd think the oil industry would be all over it. Apparently, the government - unlike the oil industry, doesn't feel fiscal responsibility need be factored into the equation. Yea, that speaks volumes about hydrogen practicality .... at least, as they keep saying, "for another 10 years".

    The problem is "The Press" is all about ratings and money. Like politicians, they could care less about us unless it lines their pockets. Remember how they dogged the Prius and Insight at first?

    looking at it in a light most favorable (ie you aren't simply trolling for arguments sake) - it appears you are speaking out of simple ignorance. The Tesla battery swap station has already proved that a traction pack can be changed in 3 minutes or less (currently the swap station's Proven technology is on hold, as Tesla owners are perfectly satisfied with the existing wait time of superchargers since you typically need a 20 or 30 minute break anyways after driving 300 miles or so) .... and the swap station's operation worked at a cost about equivalent to an average cars' refueling fee ... which is STILL less than the $15 per liter hydrogen refueling cost. Ergo - fuel cells lose. But of course they lose on many other grounds besides this (infrastructure, initial car cost, toyota's safety waivers etc.) ... especially when the hydrogen compressor may not have even recharged the primary Compressed Gas container.

    Ah yes the great dichotomy. When even toyota's 2nd generation Prius environmentaly outperforms hydrogen cars, how do you justify such a attempted project? Do you make your already much better plugin cars a little more junkie in order to make hydrogen look better? Well that would certainly be stupid. Do you cherry pick all of your hydrogen data power sources? .... claiming plugin cars in coal country, aren't as clean as hydrogen cars are in Cali? Well that's not working either.

    20 or 30 minute wait for super chargers! :eek:, So what about the owner who has not driven 300 miles and is not needing a 30 minute break, but is running late for a meeting and needs to charge a vehicle in 10 minutes!? Oh wait I guess he is out of luck....:(

    Hydrogen and Gas Stations still make the most sense..

    I do not know...did you see that $10k H2 home power unit? could charge quite a few EV's in a power failure. Sort of funny thought the EV guys hijacking a Clarity for power source.
